Future-Proofing Talents at the University of Applied Sciences in Hagenberg
As the cybersecurity industry can only remain strong with committed young talents, promoting knowledge is important to us.
That is why our team members regularly give speaking engagements or lectures.
Currently, Thomas and Stefan are teaching penetration testing (including web hacking) and physical security at the University of Applied Sciences in Hagenberg, where they cover the following topics in more detail:
Penetration Testing and Web Hacking:
With a strong practical focus, actual threats posed by cybersecurity actors are conveyed. The goal is to gain a basic understanding of the dangers posed by web attacks, network attacks, and systems that have already been infiltrated. The focus is on building knowledge in the areas of web hacking, network exploitation, and exploit writing, enabling students to learn about the most common attack vectors and methods on how to protect against them.
Physical Security:
Along to the fundamentals of physical security and the basic threats that can affect security mechanisms, practical exercises add to the understanding of physical security by teaching and practicing the non-destructive opening of windows and doors, as well as the destructive opening (breaking) of locks.
Additionally, the overall development of a physical security concept is developed to reinforce what has been learned and to delve deeper into security gaps, mechanical security options, detection and defense systems. This also enables practical application through early identification of threats and solutions.
The lectures run until June 2025, and we are excited to see how the newest “professional hackers” contribute their insights to the respective topics.
